DG shipments are charged at $8.00/lb instead of $6.50/lb. The additional $1.50/lb covers DG documentation and handling required for air freight.
We only ship in cardboard boxes. We sell boxes at our office, but most boxes will work. If your items are in a suitcase, we can insert the entire suitcase into a box or empty its contents into a cardboard box.
Aircraft have limited volume and weight capacity. We take into account the amount of space your package occupies on the aircraft, not just its actual weight.
Volumetric weight = (L in × W in × H in) ÷ 166 = weight in pounds. We charge whichever is higher: actual weight (scale) or volumetric weight (dimensions).
All measurements are in inches and pounds. All figures are rounded up to the next whole number. For example: 5.2 inches = 6 inches, 40.1 lb = 41 lb.
